Australian Research Council board rules changed after outcry

Current funding recipients are no longer excluded from applying for governance roles

The advertised criteria for members of the new Australian Research Council board have been changed—and the application period extended—after several science bodies expressed concerns at “overly restrictive” rules.

A ban on board members working for organisations that are currently receiving ARC funding has now been wound back.
