Italian-headquartered observatory reaches “milestone” shift to infrastructure development
The Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory, an astronomy facility being built to help researchers around the world study fundamental questions about the universe, has moved from its design phase to its infrastructure development phase.
Announcing the “milestone” on 18 April, the CTAO said the new phase would be supported by a €30 million investment from its governing bodies—11 member countries and one intergovernmental organisation, as well as associate members from two countries.
