EU advised to create institute to promote use of AI in research

           

Scientific Advice Mechanism also suggests European artificial intelligence science council should distribute funding

Science advisors to the European Commission have called for the EU to set up a “state-of-the-art” publicly funded institute for academic research into artificial intelligence, to accelerate use of AI across all fields of research.

The European Distributed Institute for AI in Science (Ediras) would give publicly funded researchers access to the facilities needed for “cutting-edge AI-powered research”, the Group of Chief Scientific Advisors said in a report it published on 15 April.
