EU member states endorse major strategic partnership with Japan

“First-ever bilateral framework agreement” between the two parties will encourage research collaboration

The “first-ever bilateral framework agreement between the EU and Japan” has been endorsed by the Council of the EU member states.

“Today’s decision clears the path, on the EU side, for the entry into force of the agreement as soon as the parties will have completed their internal procedure and notified their counterparts,” the Council said in a statement on 22 April.
