Health research funders bring in new sustainability rules

Wellcome and CRUK policies on environmental impact coincide with launch of sector-wide sustainability agreement

Two major UK health research charities are introducing new rules for grant applications as part of a push to reduce the environmental footprint of research.

On 25 April, both the Wellcome Trust and Cancer Research UK (CRUK) released new policies requiring researchers to demonstrate sustainability in their funding applications.
