‘Longer-term vision needed’ for engineering biology

Critical technology requires longer-term funding and more training opportunities, peers told

The UK needs a longer-term vision to support engineering biology, peers have been told.

In the government’s plan to become a science superpower, it identified engineering biology as one of five critical technologies to focus on. Since the plan’s publication in March 2023, the government has ramped up its efforts in engineering biology, committing to an investment of £2 billion in the area in the next 10 years.
