US agency allocates $90m to education research infrastructure

Investment will enable long-term research into what makes education effective, National Science Foundation says

The US National Science Foundation is devoting $90 million to the development of a “national scientific cyber infrastructure aimed at transforming learning research and science, technology, engineering and mathematics education”.

Led by Rice University, the development of SafeInsights will be a research infrastructure project “of unprecedented scale and scope”, the NSF said on 24 April.
