Tackling the climate emergency stands at the top of Scotland's wish list for its future participation in Horizon Europe, according to a report published by the national government, universities and funding agencies.
Their recommendations were published on 18 September and will feed into the EU’s consultation on the strategic priorities for the next R&D framework programme, Horizon Europe.
Earlier, Scotland’s science minister Richard Lochhead (above) reaffirmed the importance of continued close cooperation with the EU. However, it is unclear how much access Scotland will have to the programme as the UK will need to agree associate membership with Horizon Europe after Brexit if it wants to compete for most of the funding available.
