The government says it will establish a UK Arpa funding agency “as soon as possible”, after Boris Johnson’s self-imposed deadline for setting up the high-risk, high-reward research body passed unmentioned. An ongoing parliamentary inquiry into the UK Arpa has been warned that the agency will need more than £800 million to succeed.
