Horizon 2020’s final call is looking for projects that can accelerate Europe’s green transition
In September, the European Commission launched its last, and largest, call for research and innovation projects under the current Horizon 2020 framework programme. The injection of funding marries up with the European Green Deal, the Commission’s overarching strategy for making Europe carbon-neutral by 2050.
Broken down into 23 topic-specific calls, with deadlines on 26 January 2021, the Green Deal call is worth a combined €983 million. There is a strong emphasis on impact, aimed at building on research already funded through Horizon 2020 for sustainable innovation.
