UK funding in depth:

The Economic and Social Research Council has said it will ask institutions hosting doctoral training partnerships—training schemes organised by several higher education providers—to produce a strategy on equality, diversity and inclusion as part of their bids for funding. Partnerships will also be “encouraged to consider ringfenced funding for under-represented groups”. The changes will come into force for the 2022-23 cohort of PhD students.
