Three winners of BBSRC fellowships on their paths to victory

This year, applicants to the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council’s Discovery Fellowships can apply for up to £400,000 from the council, an increase of £100,000; £6 million is available in total. The purpose of the fellowships remains unchanged: to fund exciting three-year research projects in biological sciences and help early career scientists develop leadership skills and experience to support the next phase of their career. The deadline for applications is 6 May.

In 2020, Ben Upton caught up with three winners from the 2019 round to hear how they finessed their applications and decided what to foreground to catch the reviewers’ attention.
