The Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation’s Distinguished Scholar Awards—which were formerly named Research Grants and profiled by Funding Insight in 2017—support research in the natural and social sciences and the humanities that promise to increase understanding of the causes, manifestations and control of violence and aggression. Applications that contribute to tackling urgent problems of violence in the modern world, and to areas not receiving adequate attention from other funders, get priority.
