UKRI’s Healthy Ageing Catalyst Awards support ancient remedies as much as cutting-edge innovations

Established by UK Research and Innovation and venture capitalists Zinc in 2020, UKRI’s Healthy Ageing Catalyst Awards are set to return for a fourth annual call next year, opening to applications on 31 January.

Although highly technical innovations will be welcomed if they hold the possibility of improving health for people as they age, other potential ways of bringing about healthier ageing are very much included. The initial guidance for the 2023 call says the scheme welcomes in particular “applicants from the arts, humanities and social sciences”.
