From the archive: Follow-on funding fair game for first-timers

The BBSRC’s Follow-on Funding is open to all grantees, even innovation novices

The deadline is approaching for the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council’s flagship grants for those looking to move their research findings forward in the commercial pipeline. The current call for proposals will close on 5 October. However, the following round’s deadline is expected in April 2023.

Those considering an application might wish to consider the advice of Adam Bowen, the BBSRC’s co-head for knowledge exchange and commercialisation, first published in 2019. As he says, those new to the world of innovation should not be shy to apply, but would be well advised to talk things over thoroughly with their university’s technology or knowledge transfer offices first.
