Opportunity profile: Redefining UK-Spanish collaboration

The British Spanish Society’s scholarship programme is open to early career researchers in any field

Top tips

  • Think creatively about how your project will help to promote links between Britain and Spain.
  • Include a reasoned justification of why your host institution is best suited for your particular project.
  • Research the corporate sponsors and past research projects to get a sense of the projects that are favoured.
  • Get your proposal proofread by a friend or peer who is unfamiliar with your area of research.

The British Spanish Society’s scholarship programme supports postgraduate students in any field who, through their research, will build links between the UK and Spain. Scholarships are worth between £6,000 (€6,780) and £10,000 (€11,300) and can be used for research materials, travel, academic fees and, where appropriate, accommodation. The deadline for applications this year is 30 April.
