When you start your career, you need to ask for help—but from whom?

It is not easy being a researcher, right? We all need support. And we know that it’s important, to raise our odds of both professional success and personal wellbeing, to ask for help. But you do have to ask the right people.

Of course, you hopefully have a very good research development officer who can highlight funding opportunities and help with the technical parts of bids. But who else could you ask? In my ongoing quest to secure happiness on the researchers’ journey—including my own—I have identified the four best people to support you.
