Arma 2022: An update on adoption of a standardised resume format

Narrative CVs have been a long time coming, but their adoption in funding applications is now picking up pace.

At the Association of Research Managers and Administrators’ 2022 conference on 16 November, Tripti Rana Magar, senior strategy advisor at UK Research and Innovation, traced the origins of the drive towards narrative CVs back to the Nuffield Council of Bioethics’ 2014 report, The Culture of Scientific Research in the UK. In this, the Nuffield authors pointed out the unhelpfully narrow definitions of achievement valued by biomedical funders.
