Independent group tells government to ‘learn the lessons’ of Disabled Students’ Allowance
An influential group of education experts has called on the government to overhaul the Disabled Students’ Allowance and improve support for disabled students at university.
In a report on disabled students’ experiences of higher education, the Higher Education Commission—a group of experts convened by the think tank Policy Connect—said the government “should create a new system to support disabled people, from the classroom to the workplace”, and that it “must learn the lessons of the problems we have identified with the DSA”.
