Universities must lead ‘revolution’ in artificial intelligence

Call for universities to explore digital technologies in education as learning goes online

Education secretary Gavin Williamson has urged universities to lead the “revolution” in educational technologies following the rapid switch to online learning.

On 7 October Williamson said the Covid-19 pandemic “has had a significant impact on students and higher education providers”, but he stressed that online learning and Zoom conference calls “have become indispensable to us”.
