London-based institution is latest university to access cash from Bank of England scheme

The University of Roehampton has become the latest university to borrow millions from the Bank of England’s Covid-19 support scheme.

Data released by the bank on 25 March show that the University of Roehampton has accessed £5 million from the Covid Corporate Financing Facility. The CCFF is jointly run by the Treasury and the Bank of England and is designed to help businesses—including universities—to “bridge coronavirus disruption to their cash flows”. It closed to new applications on 23 March.
