USS refuses request for 2020 valuation review

Pension scheme says there is no “justifiable basis” for a review despite vice-chancellors’ request

The Universities Superannuation Scheme will not carry out a review of the 2020 valuation despite a request from Universities UK.

In a letter seen by Research Professional News, USS chair Kate Barker said the pension scheme’s leaders “do not have any justifiable basis on which to review the outcomes illustrated to date” without an “alternative proposal” or proposals being put forward by UUK.
