‘Flexibility’ needed on admissions amid A level fears

   

Minister removes some students from number controls while researchers warn A-level predictions ‘near impossible’

Universities have been ordered to show “flexibility” on admissions this year as researchers warned that predicting A level results is a “near-impossible task”.

Universities minister Michelle Donelan asked vice-chancellors to “extend some flexibility in your admissions decisions this year, wherever you can” to make sure students who challenge their A level results do not miss out on a university place.
