Ministers seek views on PQA, but Department for Education warns system could be ‘unviable’
The government has promised to explore how a post-qualification admissions system could work in the UK as it launched a consultation on the matter.
Education secretary Gavin Williamson said the current admissions system “is preventing some students from reaching their full potential at the first hurdle” and was “designed for a different age”, as he opened the PQA consultation on 21 January.
