MPs demand more cash for student mental health

   

Cross-party support for extra funding to help universities cope with increased demand for services

An influential group of MPs and peers has called on the government to release more funding for student mental health support “as soon as possible”.

Members of the All-Party Parliamentary University Group warned that the £50 million in student hardship funding released by the government last week “does not directly provide for the significant additional burden on mental health support” created by the Covid-19 pandemic.
