Government statistics reveal drop in employment among graduates and postgraduates

Graduate employment fell by 1.1 percentage points in 2020, pushing the proportion of graduates who were in work down to the lowest rate since 2013.

Graduate labour market statistics released by the Department for Education on 10 June show that the employment rate for working-age graduates was 86.4 per cent in 2020, down from the 87.5 per cent recorded in 2019. Graduate employment was last below 86.4 per cent in 2013, when it was 86.0 per cent.
