Universities have guaranteed that students can return home for Christmas—but can they come back?

For weeks, the papers and the opposition benches have been obsessing about whether students will be able to return home for Christmas.

Forget the fact that Arbaeen began on 7 October, or that Dussehra is but a week away; don’t worry that Diwali is on 14 November, or that Guru Nanak’s birthday is little over a month away. All the talk has been focused on 25 December and how universities and the government will work together to ensure that pious students can spend Christmas with their families.
