Has anyone seen the education secretary or the universities minister recently? Playbook is far from the first to ask this in recent days—it has become something of a recurring theme on social media—but it is a fair question. Why are they keeping such a low profile?
Later today, at about noon, Gavin Williamson will finally give an in-person statement to parliament on the rapidly deteriorating situation for the thousands of students locked down in halls of residence or shared houses, who are unable to spend—or forbidden from spending—time on campus.
