MPs report on Arpa and a lawyer discusses the perils of working from abroad

Today, the House of Commons science and technology committee publishes its report on the UK Arpa, the proposed funding agency designed to shake up science.

The intention to establish an agency modelled on the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency in the United States was laid out in the Queen’s speech in October 2019, with more details given in the next Queen’s speech two months later. Prime minister Boris Johnson announced that it would be created in summer 2020.
