What did we learn from Michelle Donelan’s appearance before the Commons education committee?

If you thought the latest episode of Line of Duty was the most baffling thing you would see on your screen for a while, you need to take a look at the universities minister’s evidence session with the House of Commons education committee yesterday morning. It swung between high drama and farce, passing through all genres on the way.

Whether it would have been this much fun in three dimensions, we cannot say. But the appearance of committee members via Zoom lent proceedings a strong Handforth Parish Council vibe.
