Change is afoot at the OfS—will ministers aim to cram the board with allies?
We first had a tickle of it on Friday morning. We approached the Office for Students for confirmation and by mid-morning, a press release had confirmed the news that Chris Millward’s contract as director for fair access and participation would not be renewed.
The director for fair access is an ex officio member of the board at the OfS. Millward was appointed to the role in 2017 by education secretary Justine Greening, universities minister Jo Johnson and OfS chair Michael Barber.
