UK Research and Innovation has announced a consultation on equality, diversity and inclusion
The stated aim of a consultation on UK Research and Innovation’s draft Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy is to deliver a vision of a research and innovation system that is “by everyone, for everyone”. It is an acknowledgement that the existing system is not.
This is the second UKRI consultation of the week, with the first covering impact in research applications. Combined, they feel a bit like the legacy of the previous science minister rather than the new broom of the latest incumbent.
