A panel discusses the higher education freedom of speech bill

This week’s events have indicated a problem not so much with free speech in the UK as with the government’s indifference to those freely saying that its ideas are crazy.

But while its attention is certainly focused elsewhere, the Truss government is unlikely to drop its predecessor’s enthusiasm for safeguarding free speech, even if only because this is one of the few policies not requiring large amounts of public spending.
