Playbook goes in pursuit of Labour policies on universities and research
One of the odder stories from higher education this summer was the news that students enrolled on university courses in Manchester were being offered places in halls of residence in Liverpool. It is certainly a city with a lot of construction going on.
Yesterday, we also learned much about what to do if you are digging a hole. There would seem to be three options: keep digging (chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng), play for time (governor of the Bank of England Andrew Bailey), or keep on the move (shadow universities minister Matt Western).
