Covid messaging diverges for students in Scotland and Wales

Scotland’s students urged to remain on campus, while some Welsh students told to learn online

Students in Scotland are being encouraged to stay on campus despite lockdowns in halls of residence, while students in Wales have been told to stick to online learning amid local lockdowns.

On 27 September, Richard Lochhead, Scotland’s minister for further education, higher education and skills, urged students to stay in their term-time accommodation despite lockdowns at universities in Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow forcing students to stay in their halls.
