Biden appoints head of USAID Africa bureau

Travis Adkins is former African and security studies lecturer

United States president Joe Biden has appointed an “African and security studies” lecturer to head the African bureau of the US Agency for International Development.

Travis Adkins was among a slew of Biden appointments announced on 15 March. He is a former lecturer at Georgetown University and staff director of the House of Representatives’ subcommittee on Africa.
