NIH puts $60m into African health data science

Research will focus on continent’s ‘most pressing’ clinical and public health problems

The United States’ National Institutes of Health is to provide close to US$60 million over five years for a programme to boost data science in Africa.

The programme will focus on data with potential for health discoveries and innovation. Four funding calls will open for applications on 10 July and close on 24 November.
