University of Ghana names its first female vice-chancellor

Linguist Nana Aba Appiah Amfo brings “innovation, resourcefulness and tact” to role

The appointment of the University of Ghana’s first woman vice-chancellor, Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, was announced on 26 October.

Amfo is a linguistics professor and was previously the dean of UG’s school of languages and vice-chancellor in charge of academic and student affairs.
