Research alliance calls for funding commitments at upcoming summit with Europe

Vice-chancellors from Africa’s top universities have called on African governments and the African Union to commit funding to research at next week’s Africa-Europe summit.

African policymakers at the summit should endorse funding for new research centres and infrastructure, the heads of the 16 universities of the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) said in a 7 February statement.
