EFF student activist-cum-MP joins parliament’s science committee

Sinawo Thambo is the third Red Beret MP to serve on portfolio committee since 2019

South Africa’s second largest opposition party, the Economic Freedom Fighters, has once again changed which of its MPs serves on Parliament’s portfolio committee on higher education, science and technology.

Sinawo Tambo attended his first meeting of the committee on 6 November. He is the third EFF MP to hold the party’s one seat on the committee since the 2019 election. He was preceded by Suzan Thembekwayo and Phuti Keetse.
