Cape Town aims to ramp up staff diversity

    

University to refrain from quotas and ‘absolute barriers’

The University of Cape Town in South Africa says it aims to accelerate transformation with an expanded employment equity policy. 

The policy will come into effect on 1 February and stretch for three years. “The policy renews UCT’s commitment to redress, restoring dignity and social justice,” said Loretta Feris, deputy vice-chancellor for transformation, in a 25 January statement.
