Cape Town university makes Covid-19 jabs compulsory

            

Panel to draw up operational details and exemptions of mandate by December

The University of Cape Town will require staff and students to be vaccinated against Covid-19 from 2022, making it the first South African university to adopt a mandatory vaccination policy.

Mamokgethi Phakeng, the UCT vice-chancellor, announced on 20 October that the university council had given the green light for the vaccine mandate during a 16 October meeting.
