Abdool Karim and Viljoen join International Science Council and UN human rights committee

Two South African researchers have been appointed to high-level international positions.

Salim Abdool Karim was elected to the governing board of the Paris-based non-governmental International Science Council on 14 October. He will be the ISC’s vice-president for outreach and engagement.
