Shabir Madhi and Barry Schoub lauded for “outstanding” work on Covid-19

The Academy of Science of South Africa has awarded its most prestigious annual prizes to two virus experts, Shabir Madhi and Barry Schoub.

The pair won the ASSAf Science for Society Gold Medals, which reward “outstanding achievement in scientific thinking to the benefit of society”. The prizes were awarded during ASSAf’s annual meeting held virtually on 20 October.
