Wits cricket hub aims to knock injuries for six

Sports science centre will focus on rehabilitation and boosting performance

A cricket research hub was launched at the University of the Witwatersrand on 28 October. Housed in the Department of Physiotherapy, it will focus on science, medicine, and rehabilitation.

Benita Oliver, the director of the hub, said in a statement that the centre would strive to disseminate its research findings in a consumer-friendly way. Oliver has been conducting research on cricket since 2009, earning her PhD by studying bowlers’ injuries.
