South Africa represented in almost half of Southern Africa climate research

Academy report finds year-on-year publication growth of 16 per cent

Almost half of climate change research that investigates Southern Africa has contributors who are based in South Africa, a report by the Academy of Science of South Africa has found.

The Assaf report into climate change science and technology between 2016-2017 found that 40 per cent of research publications relevant to Southern Africa involved South African institutions. The report was released on 12 August.
