Anonymous gift allows scientists to study fossils inside rocks
Palaeoscience at the University of the Witwatersrand has received a R10 million (US$680,000) boost to enable researchers to examine fossils without damaging them or their embedded material.
The university announced the funding on 21 March. The money comes via the university’s centenary funding drive, which aims to raise R3 billion for research and other initiatives. It comes from a single unnamed donor.
