Concern over lack of medical research input to national survey

Health security assessment scheme is lacking information from key sectors, experts warn

The medical sector has been urged to take part in a national study that will guide everything from future research to pandemic planning, after one expert expressed deep disquiet that research institutes had been largely absent from the process in the past. 

The Federal Government’s National Health Security Resilience Assessment covers a range of health security issues, including threats to health, supply chain issues and research. Data from the survey are used to plan not only defence-related research, but also future pandemic responses.
