CSIRO ‘deep tech’ fund raises A$250m from private investors

Investment fund will support R&D on climate solutions and food security

A technology investment fund backed by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation has raised A$250 million from private sources for its second round of funding.

Main Sequence, which was launched in 2017 to build on A$70m in the CSIRO Innovation Fund, said the money came in part from existing investors Hostplus and Temasek, “as well as family offices and private investors from Morgan Stanley Wealth Management and Mutual Trust”. Lockheed Martin is also an investor.
