University-based research projects in Australia win funding to investigate rare conditions and heart failure
The Medical Research Future Fund has awarded funding of A$63.4 million to research and clinical trials addressing rare cancers and diseases.
The Rare Cancers, Rare Diseases and Unmet Need programme of the MRFF announced the funding on 10 January. The programme “encourages novel and innovative clinical trial methodologies, such as the application of precision medicine to take individual genetic variation into account in disease treatment”, according to a statement from the Australian Department of Health.
